From January to February of this year, The Ateneo Association for Communications Technology(ACTM) will be having our annual IMC Cup entitled: “Catalyst: Ideas for Change.’ The IMC Cup is an Integrated Marketing Communications competition that challenges students to come up with a marketing plan for a real-world company case. It will test the skill of participants in IMC and their ability to create an effective and compelling IMC plan that has the potential for sparking changes in line with this year’s theme. This year’s task will involve an integrated marketing communications plan geared towards an advocacy. Teams will pit their marketing savvy against those of competitors from across Metro Manila’s biggest universities. The top 5 teams will compete in the culminating night where only the best of best will be hailed the undisputed champions of the IMC Cup.The focus of this year’s IMC Cup will be youth empowerment. There is much need for this, whether it will be about leadership, nation-building, the environment, taking initiatives, or entrepreneurship. Youth empowerment will play an important role in forming the leaders of tomorrow. The specific aspect of youth empowerment that will serve as the advocacy of IMC Cup 2012 will be revealed in the coming weeks.MECHANICS• To take part in the competition, each team will be required to submit an accomplished application form by January 9, 2012.• Participants should form groups composed of 3 to 5 members each from the same school• Participants should assign one of its members to be the team representative, for contact purposes.• Participants should be currently and officially enrolled in each of their colleges or universities to be eligible for the competition.• The scope of the competition are all colleges and universities within Metro Manila.• The teams will be given a 10-day timeframe to create an IMC campaign revolving around the preliminary case to be released online on the 10th of January, 2012. Deadline of submission for these will be on January 20, 2012, midnight.• Application forms may be downloaded from http://tinyurl.com/IMCcupappkit1 and http://tinyurl.com/IMCcupappkit2 . Completed application forms should all be submitted via email by January 11, 2012 to imccup2012@gmail.com .• Judges will deliberate and release the final list of five (5) teams on the 27th of January, 2012.
